To Move/Copy a Component

Follow these steps to Move/Copy a component.

  1. Do one of the following

Right-click on the component and select Move/Copy Component.

    The Move/Copy Component dialog opens.
  2. Do the following to Move the component:
    1. Identify the move anchor point with a data point. Connected components appear dynamically attached to the pointer reacting to changes in the move direction.
    2. Data point again to complete moving the anchor point to its new location.
All connected components rigid to the move direction move. The extent of components under initial consideration can be limited by defining a selection set.
  3. Do the following to Copy the component:
    1. Enable Copy Component. Copies and Copy Selected field enables.
    2. In the Copies textbox, mention the number of copies you want to create.
    3. Enable Copy Selected if you want to copy only selected components.
    4. Identify the anchor point with a data point. Connected components appear dynamically attached to the pointer reacting to changes in the move direction.
    5. Data point again to complete moving the anchor point to its new location.
All connected components are copied to new location.
Tip: A special configuration variable is available to improve performance when moving components which have large numbers of other components connected. When defined, BMECH_MOVE_MAXDYNAMIC limits the number of components seen in the tool dynamics. The assigned value is the maximum number. The number of components actually moved is not affected. By default, the configuration variable is not defined so there is no limit to the number of components seen in dynamics.
